What to do in Syracuse and in South East Sicily?

Syracuse is rich of a very long history. Its Greek archeological park, its Barocco heritage, its fountains, museums, cathedral and churches are a cure for sore eyes. Wandering around with no destination is also an option and a very good way to spend the time.

Syracuse is a good starting point to visit the South-Eastern part of Sicily : Ragusa, Noto and the Unesco World Heritage Baroccan cities, several archeological sites, the large city of Catania, Etna or Cavagrande for outdoorsy days, and the 3800 m² of mosaics at the Villa Romana del Casale. (plan full day)
